sfullyard As we take part in this ritual process of Jeremys Rumpspringa, we dive deep into ancient electronic wisdom, unleashed in a captivating way, morphing between various electronica and styles.

The journey into this icy, brazzy, bellish, super clean and retro-future mixed world is an experience of bleepy and plucky synth shamanic sound-waves. They take you gentle by the hand and make it happen - this other version of you - now in stereo.
Favorite track: The Curse.

about

A Rumpspringa is a rite of passage during adolescence, translated in English as "jumping or hopping around," used in some Amish communities.

Amish adolescents may engage in rebellious behavior, resisting or defying parental norms. In many cultures, enforcement may be relaxed, and misbehavior tolerated or overlooked to a degree. A view of rumspringa has emerged in popular culture that this divergence from custom is an accepted part of adolescence or a rite of passage for Amish youth.

The popularized idea of this is that the youth leave the sheltered life they lived up until adolescence to live amongst the secular, non-Amish population. Here they can, if they choose, indulge in and experience a life that up until that point was completely alien to them. Some of them may choose not to return to the Amish community and instead strike out on their own.

2021 was my metaphorical Rumspringa. I set out on my own, into a new way of living, and tried as many new things as I could. I went full-time creative, making music, videos, and teaching music online. I used gear I had never used before, in ways I had never used it. I thought about music in ways I never had.

This small collection of music is a part of that. These tracks were made on modular synthesizers and other hardware, and don't follow normal "song conventions". Instead, they spend time asking a question.

I hope you enjoy it, and I hope your Rumspringa is going well.
